I. Booking conditions for residences at the Relais du Vieux Sauvaire

1. Reservation

A residence is reserved only once the client has paid a 50% down payment or the whole cost of the stay. The remainder of the payment will be collected one month before the arrival date. A deposit of €2000 will be required and returned on the date of departure provided that the residence is left in the state in which it was found.

Optional services can be paid for in advance or when the client arrives.

Upon arrival, the number of guests (adults and children) must not exceed the number for which the reservation was made. Any additional guests will have to pay for an additional residence rental. If no residences are available at that time, it will not be possible to host the extra guests.

2. Modification

Any request to change the dates of the stay, the residence or any services booked will be catered for as far as possible. Any difference in price will need to be paid by the client. Please note that changes, particularly those related to dates, are unlikely to be accommodated if requested one month or less before the arrival date.

3. Cancellation

• In the event of a cancellation made at least two months before the arrival date, the down payment will be fully refunded.
• For cancellations made between one and two months before the stay, the down-payment will not be refunded. If the full amount of the booking has been paid, 50% will be refunded.
• For cancellations made less than one month before the stay, the full cost of the reservation will be charged, and no refund will be issued.

Additionally, Relais du Vieux Sauvaire reserves the right not to refund certain optional services if the service provider requires payment for these services, even if they were not performed.

II. Payment

1. Use of the residences and their facilities

A. Check-in and check-out times

The residences will be ready for guests to access from 3 p.m. on the day of their arrival. Guests must check out before 11 a.m. on the day of their departure.

B. Stay

Our residences offer a peaceful retreat, nestled between the hills and the sea. Relais du Vieux Sauvaire has six residences, accommodating up to 30 guests in total. Designed to provide tranquility and privacy, each residence grants access to shared facilities while ensuring a calm atmosphere. To maintain this harmony, we kindly ask guests to refrain from excessive noise before 8 a.m. and after 10 p.m.

c. Equipment

All equipment available in the residences is listed in the website. Guests can request a copy of this list. Before guests arrive, we make sure that all the equipment is cleaned and working correctly. Guests should inform the team at Relais du Vieux Sauvaire immediately if any equipment is not working properly. Any damaged or missing equipment found will be billed after departure.

d. General

Smoking is not permitted on the grounds, except in the designated outdoor spaces and on the private terraces outside the residences. Pets may be accepted if they are well-behaved.

2. Use of the garden and its facilities

A. The garden

The garden at Relais du Vieux Sauvaire is fully accessible to residents. However, please note that the estate is located within the Massif des Maures, a protected natural environment.

• Picnics may be allowed, provided the natural surroundings are respected.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited due to the high risk of fire, particularly during the summer months.
• Cutting down or damaging any trees on the estate is not permitted, regardless of the species.
• We strongly advise against collecting berries, mushrooms, or other natural items without guidance or prior advice, both within and beyond the estate.
• Wild animals, such as wild boar and roe deer, may occasionally cross the estate. These animals are not dangerous if left undisturbed.

In the event of an accident, please notify us immediately, and contact emergency services if necessary.

B. The vegetable garden and the poultry

The vegetable garden is not open to the guests. However, they may enjoy our homegrown vegetables and eggs, available for order through our shoping list.

c. Parking

Guests have access to the outdoor parking area throughout their stay. Parking spaces are not assigned, and they should only be used for parking vehicles.

3. Swimming pool regulations

In compliance with current legislation, the swimming pool at Relais du Vieux Sauvaire is equipped with an access barrier and a movement detector with an alarm for safety. No lifeguards are on duty, and these precautions do not replace proper supervision, particularly by parents/responsible adults when children access the pool.

• Children must never swim unsupervised and are not allowed near the pool without a responsible adult.
• For children under six, flotation devices (e.g., armbands, float suits) are mandatory, even if they can swim. However, these aids do not guarantee drowning prevention and supervision is still required.
• Swimming after prolonged sun exposure or a meal carries risks of cold shock or drowning, regardless of age or swimming ability.
• Diving and playing in the pool are permitted, provided they do not disturb other guests.
• Swimwear is required for guests when bathing.
• Babies must wear waterproof nappies.
• Sun loungers must be covered with a towel before use.

Pool hours: Open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

4. Living alongside other residents on the estate

Relais du Vieux Sauvaire warmly welcomes all guests seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in our estate. We strive to accommodate any specific requests of all our guests, and kindly ask everyone to adhere to a few basic rules to ensure a pleasant experience for all.

• Quiet hours: We ask guests to avoid excessive noise between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Please note that acoustic concerts may occasionally be held on the restaurant terrace during July and August.
• Environmental respect: Guests are requested to dispose of their waste in the designated bins located in the garden and outdoor areas.
• Shared facilities: As all estate facilities are shared, we kindly remind guests to use them considerately, ensuring that their use does not prevent others from enjoying them.
